Xiamei Man World Lake Conference 2025

Xiamei Man

Dr Xiamei Man is a Research Fellow at Australian Rivers Institute, Griffith University. Xiamei completed Bachelor of Geological Engineering in Shanghai, then awarded their Ph.D. at the University of Sydney which focused on 1-D, 3-D hydrodynamic, water-quality modeling. During their Ph.D. candidature, Xiamei worked with scientists, engineers and reservior managers at Carey Lab at Virginia Tech, U.S. for improving water-quality modeling in oxygenated lakes and reservoirs. Xiamei's Ph.D. research looks into the sediment oxygen consumption processes by microprofiler measurements. When working as a postdoc at University of Queensland, School of Civil Engineering, partnered with Redland City Council, Xiamei's research investigated a unique underwater landslide. Combining multiple scientific methods, the research reveals novel knowledge on retrogressive breach failure at Amity Point, North Stradbroke Island.
