After you've had lunch please meet please meet at the entrance of the Rydges Hotel on Grey Street at 12:20pm if you wish to join us on a lunchtime walk.  Participants must be physically fit and able to walk at a brisk pace and consider sun block, hat and water for the walk. Walkers should take care on dual-use zones (pedestrian and cycling) to stay within the marked pedestrian areas.

The walk will proceed from the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre to The Wheel of Brisbane – an iconic landmark rising 60 meters above the ground for views of Brisbane's skyline. Walkers will then cross the Meanjin-Brisbane River using the recently-constructed Neville Bonner Bridge, named after the first Indigenous Australian senator, which connects South Bank to the Queen's Wharf precinct and the newly-constructed Star Brisbane, a resort complex and casino. From here walkers proceed to Gardens Point, the southernmost area of the Brisbane CBD for views of the Botanic Gardens, the Queensland Parliament, and the Queensland University of Technology. A crossing will then be made of the Goodwill Bridge – designed for pedestrians and cyclists – leading to the Queensland Maritime Museum, where it is possible to see historic vessels like the HMAS Diamantina and the steam tug Forceful. Walkers proceed to South Bank, reconstructed for the 1988 World Expo, viewing the free open swimming area, and then return to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
